Some of these people attend shows stalking good breeders cause their own dogs are so
aggressive they can NOT be handled in public . And state if you can tough a Ovcharka then it is incorrect for the breed. What a loud of hogwash.
You see the Caucasian Ovcharka thanks in part to the bad National Geographic show, has become the new breed for the macho idiot crowd. Attracting tons of backyard breeders who do NOT
work, test or show dogs. But sell them on levels of aggression they perceive to see in their breed.
And if a breed such as Central Asian can protect without be aggressive to all strangers then that
cuts into their own imaginary world of what a guardian breed should be.
Personally I think a few penis extension's would save the Caucasian Breed as well as the confusion of the Central Asian allot of heart ache.

Common misnomers about the CAS when compared to the CO.
1. CAS live only 9-11 years. FALSE
12 Year old Tasha + many others are outliving that WRONG info ~oldest CAS on record is 17.
2. CAS Roam : FALSE.
CAS patrol & are bonded to their owners. They did NOT go walk about without the nomads in tow.
They can & will extend territory to patrol or defend , mark & return home _without proper fencing.
3. CAS are ALL _dog aggressive, FALSE.
Both the Caucasian & Central Asian Ovcharka have lines used & bred for dog fighting.
Working Central Asian shepherds as well as Caucasian Ovcharka are NOT dog aggressive.
So basing a comparisons on one type would be misleading .

But again some US CO people tend to wish to BASH the entire landrace of CAS ,while they breed the CO.
Not understanding what affects one leads to BSL for all.
4. CAS are healthier than CO's FALSE.
CO have a much higher rate of hip dysphasia, but these dogs can live with this disease.
CAS have half the rate of dysphasia . But are starting to show ACL tears, Knee issues as well as ED & SD.
As long as both breeds are bred for HUGE size to produce big show dogs vs working dogs.
They will one day be no different than the Neapolitan Mastiff of today.
Thus the life spans will be cut in half like the Neo down to 6-7 years..
#1 killer for both breeds is bad temperament _aggressive _owner dominant dogs .
5. Temperament: Misleading: CAS are NOT the most protective of the Troika Ovcharka Breeds
Out of the 3 breeds using the Russian name Ovcharka.
The CAS gives the _most _warning.
It is a disqualifying fault for CAS to be liable to anger , or a choleric temperament , uncontrollable irrability .
Regards to emotional displays, it goes back to the breeders work & selection of temperament.
Working CAS meet & great all strangers. Showing much emotional & playfulness with family & friends.
Sometimes acting goofy. Others are on guard, all CORRECT CAS should be approachable with a owners cue.
Some simply need physical & verbal cues.
So go out and meet both breeds & as many breeders as you can ,in public & on home turf.
If the dogs live kenneled separate from each other or can not be male to male or female to female or M/F.
Then you are getting a line not suited for pack family life.

It is my opinion backed up by the standard for the breed . the Caucasian makes for a much better guard dog.
ince they have a in standard 'aggression to strangers vs distrust..
Most Caucasian have such a serious bond with their owners they really do not wish to interact with strangers they tend to be more aloof, ( exceptions to apply).This is where the Caucasian was bred to be a stationary guardian .
With limited contact outside family and villagers.
Where the original CAS were bred to be the walking guards of huge nomadic tribes,.
Thus interacting with many , resulting in a lower active defense drive.
If you meet either breed & the dog is out of control pls don't blame the breed, blame the breeder & the owner.
